Fellow members,

I wanted to clarify some confusion with the current raises. The graph I sent out earlier represents the reclassification of officers. An officer who has been two years will make FCO and receive a 5% raise, an officer with four years will make MO and receive a 5% raise, and an officer who has been here six years will make SO and receive a 2.5% raise. These raises will only be for officers not detectives or any higher rank. There are approximately 360 officers that will see some type of raise from this new pay scale. While we don’t fully agree with this new pay scale because of the divisiveness is creates, we support any raise for officers. These raises should take effect in August and the actual classification will be within the next 6-8 months.

The educational incentive will be approximately $650 for an Associate degree and $1300 for a Bachelor degree. We should see these checks in October.

Eric and I will meet with the Chief on July 28. Please let us know if you would like us to address an issue. The main topic will be the new off-duty policy.

Finally, I want to thank our fellow members; Eric DeSimone, Jay Bloodworth, Jay Krueger, Mark Slater, Stacy Lundy, and Russ Copersito who helped in organizing the vast majority of the current academy. As I have always said our strength comes from our members and we just added 23 more today.

Thanks for your support.
